IRCTC website Record booking of e-tickets on IRCTC website on 1 April 2015

 New record: 11.2 lakh e-tickets booked on IRCTC website on 1 April 2015

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation's (IRCTC) e-ticketing website was able to book 11.2 lakh e-tickets on 1 April 2015. It is the highest ever single day booking. 

Last record: 5.80 lakh e-tickets booked on IRCTC website on March 19

Reasons:-

IIT mains exam held on 4 april 2014 many of student booked ticket on "Tatkal quota"

this is single reasons for thid record
